AZ & NV Compliance Calendar

Arizona and Nevada contractor deadlines live across several agency websites, and none of them talk to each other. This page collects the renewal, bond, and workers' comp basics in one place.

No login, no account, no cost — just the facts and links to the official sources.

Arizona — Registrar of Contractors (ROC)

License renewal

Every two years (24 months), counted from your own license issue date — there is no shared statewide renewal date, so your deadline is personal to your license. Renewal generally requires continuing education (hours vary by classification), a current surety bond on file, and either a current workers' compensation certificate or the “no employee” affidavit (ROC Form 36-0302).

Surety bond

ROC sets your bond amount when you're licensed, based on your classification and monetary limit, so there is no single number that applies to every contractor. Check the current fee and bond schedule at roc.az.gov/licensing-fees.

Workers' compensation

Required if you have even one employee. A sole proprietor with no employees files the no-employee affidavit (ROC Form 36-0302) instead of a certificate.

Nevada — State Contractors Board (NSCB)

License renewal

Every two years. The renewal fee is $600 as of 2026 — confirm the current amount with NSCB before you budget for it, since fees change.

Bond

NSCB sets your bond amount at approval, roughly in the $1,000–$500,000 range depending on your classification and monetary limit, so there's no single “the” bond amount. Bonds commonly renew annually even though the license is biennial — double check your own cycle with your surety agent, because practice varies.

Why this trips people up

Arizona renewal dates are personal — tied to your issue date, not January 1 — so there's no annual reminder built into the calendar year. And a bond can lapse on a completely different cycle than the license it backs. Miss either one and nothing announces it.
