DOT Compliance Tracker

Two FMCSA items sneak up on registered fleets: the biennial MCS-150 update, and a safety rating that changes without anyone at the shop noticing. Miss the MCS-150 and your registration can be deactivated; miss a rating change and you find out from a customer or an underwriter.

Give us your USDOT number and we'll track both. Free, no account, no pitch — built for any commercial fleet registered with FMCSA, regardless of vehicle weight.

Set up alerts

Enter your USDOT number. Your MCS-150 biennial due date comes straight from the number itself, and we'll pull your carrier record from the public FMCSA census file to watch your safety rating.

Free. No account. Unsubscribe from any email.

How it works

Step one

Enter your USDOT number. Your MCS-150 filing month and year come straight out of the number — FMCSA's own rule, no lookup needed.

Step two

We pull your carrier record from the public FMCSA census file and note the safety rating on file. Not in the file yet? Reminders still work — the deadline is pure math.

Step three

You get a confirmation right away, MCS-150 reminders 60, 30, and 7 days out, and an email if your safety rating changes. One-click unsubscribe on every one.

What we track — and what we don't

MCS-150 biennial update

The last digit of your USDOT number sets the filing month; the digit before it sets whether you file in an odd or even year. We compute your next due date from that and remind you before it lands.

Safety rating changes

Satisfactory, Conditional, Unsatisfactory, or no compliance review on file. We check daily against the public census file and email you only when the rating actually changes. Most carriers have never had a review — we say “not yet rated” rather than dressing that up as a passing grade.

Not included

No CSA/SMS BASIC scores, no roadside inspection or crash history, no violation records, no filing on your behalf. This tool is two things only: MCS-150 deadlines and safety-rating changes.

Carrier data comes from the FMCSA Company Census File published on data.transportation.gov. It is refreshed periodically by FMCSA and can lag the official record.

BuiltFleet is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by FMCSA or the U.S. Department of Transportation. Always confirm your filing status and rating directly with FMCSA — these alerts are a convenience, not the official record.

Questions

Which fleets does this apply to?

Any FMCSA-registered fleet. If you have a USDOT number, this works for you, regardless of your vehicles' weight.

What does it alert on?

Two things only: your MCS-150 biennial update deadline, and changes to your FMCSA safety rating from the public census file. No CSA/SMS scores, no inspection or crash history, no violations.
